We are still developing our voting system, but as you know, we are going for a system where each one of us will gain voting power according to the commitment and engagement have given to the community.
The parameter that we are considering are:
– NUMBER OF ANT TOKENS HELD
– CONTENT (REPUTATION)
– SERVICE (REPUTATION)
– GOVERNANCE (REPUTATION)
– MENTORING (REPUTATION)
– PASSIVE INCOME CONTRIBUTION
– TIME ON THE ANTHILL
– MINORITY AND DIVERSITY *this requires debating to determine how and if we should use such a system.
If you want to join this discussion, please go to the Group Token Reward System, Voting Power and Gamification
So far, we have already been voting for simple decision, referendums, working proposal, and in the future, we will be voting for the Custodian Board.
Custodians are the ones that practically manage and run the Anthill and safeguard the community interests.
As custodians, we are responsible for managing the Website, Our social channels, including the Anthill Music Collective Account on Emanate.
Gigi Piscitelli and I (Manolo Remiddi) are the Co-founders of the Anthill HQ Limited, the London based company that is building the Anthill DAC (Decentralized Autonomous Community) and we are at the moment the only two custodians. In the future, we will be looking for more custodians to join the board. The reason why, at the moment, custodian voting isn’t open is that we want first to create a stable and working community that would make investment possible. Then we will slowly grow our number of custodians, from 2 to 3 then 5, 7, 11… following the prime numbers.
We want to create a fair system for everyone but even if the intentions are good isn’t always easy to build a suitable design.
I follow on YouTube a channel that “is attempting to communicate the deep ideas of academic subjects” by producing lovely videos and creating simulations of possible scenarios.
I’d like for you Ants to have a look and start reflecting on the challenge we are facing in building a fair voting system.
There’s also this other video that is quite interesting on this subject.
and to keep thinking I would like to end with this quote from Isaac Asimov that said in 1980:
Anti–intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.Isaac Asimov
